Welcome to Round 38 of Sofascore’s Fantasy Premier League and this weekend features the climax of this season’s Premier League campaign.

Arsenal finally clinched their long-awaited league title following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw at Bournemouth, but there’s still plenty to play for on Sunday as Champions League and European spots are still up for grabs, while Tottenham and West Ham battle it out to avoid the drop down into the Championship.

With the World Cup fast approaching, we have assembled an ‘England XI’ based on the players with the highest Fantasy points tally in each position and it will be fascinating to see how many of these players make Thomas Tuchel’s final squad.

NB: Because this focuses solely on the Premier League, we have omitted striker Harry Kane in our Sofascore XI for Round 38.

So, let’s get into it…

Dean Henderson (CRYSTAL PALACE v Arsenal) – €6.1M

Crystal Palace and goalkeeper Dean Henderson have enjoyed a solid and successful campaign this season as The Eagles have made their way to the UEFA Europa Conference League final and sit in 15th place in the Premier League table.

The additional workload of participating in Europe has taken its toll on Oliver Glasner’s side but nevertheless, keeper Dean Henderson has produced a consistent campaign between the sticks for the London club.

Henderson sits 3rd in Palace’s Sofascore player ratings with a score of 6.92, while he leads the current England no.1 keeper, Jordan Pickford, in the Fantasy points table with 178 points to his name – he’s also great value at just €6.1M!

Marc Guehi (MANCHESTER CITY v Aston Villa) – €9.0M

A desperately disappointing 1-1 draw down on the south coast at Bournemouth in midweek saw Manchester City’s title challenge grind to a halt, and to make matters worse, City manager, Pep Guardiola, announced his departure from the club at the end of the season, making it an emotionally charged final game of the season against Aston Villa.

Despite this, defender Marc Guehi has emerged as a serious contender for Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad as he has racked up a total of 257 Fantasy points to date (just 10 behind Arsenal’s Gabriel), while possessing an impressive Sofascore rating of 7.30.

In addition, Guehi has chipped in with 3 goals and 3 assists so far this season – not a bad return for a defender.

James Tarkowski (Tottenham v EVERTON) – €8.5M

Everton defender James Tarkowski has been ever-present at the back for The Toffees this season in what has been a successful campaign for the merseyside club, sitting in 12th place and still with a chance of making Europe on the final day of the season.

Tarkowski not only leads the ratings for defenders for Everton with a score of 7.17, the England defender has also amassed a total of 246 Fantasy points to date as well, while contributing 2 goals along with 3 assists.

In his last 10 months, Tarkowski has achieved a Sofascore rating of 7.0 or over and consistency has been his trademark for Everton.

Ezri Konsa (Manchester City v ASTON VILLA) – €6.9M

Aston Villa head into the final day of the Premier League season having collected European silverware in Istanbul in midweek thanks to a comprehensive 3-0 win against German outfit Freiburg in the final of the Europa League.

Defender, Ezri Konsa, has been part of Villa’s backbone in not only dominating the European second tier but also helping The Villans to Champions League football next term – an overall Sofascore rating of 6.99 has been helped by picking up a total of 191 Fantasy points to date.

Konsa has played 90 minutes in eight of Villa’s last nine games in all competitions.

Trevoh Chalobah (Sunderland v CHELSEA) – €6.7M

Chelsea have had to endure a tough and highly disappointing campaign in the domestic top flight this season in relation to budget spend amidst managerial turmoil but nevertheless, The Blues travel to the Stadium of Light seeking three points which may see the London club grab a European spot for next season.

Defender Trevoh Chalobah has registered an overall Sofascore rating of 6.93 so far this season and is amongst one of the highest points-scorers for English defenders so far this term as well with 183 Fantasy points under his belt.

Chalobah has also contributed 3 goals for Chelsea this season and looks a bargain for Round 38 at just €6.7M.

Elliot Anderson (NOTTINGHAM FOREST v Bournemouth) – €7.3M

Nottingham Forest have secured their Premier League status for another season but this has been in no small part due to the form of midfielder Elliot Anderson who has enjoyed a break-out campaign for the Tricky Trees.

Anderson has caught the eye this season and has deserved the plaudits as he not only leads the way in Forest’s Sofascore player ratings with a score of 7.34, but he has also scored 4 goals and contributed 4 assists as well.

With a total of 215 Fantasy points to his name so far this season, Anderson has even outscored the likes of Arsenal’s Declan Rice and sits second in midfielders only to Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes – Elliot Anderson should therefore make Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

Declan Rice (Crystal Palace v ARSENAL) – €9.0M

Arsenal finally crossed the finish line in the race for the Premier League title during the week as The Gunners secured a nervy 1-0 home win against Burnley combined with Manchester City failing to win away from home at Bournemouth, and England captain Declan Rice has been an integral part of Arsenal’s success this season.

Indeed, Rice has accumulated a total of 213 Fantasy points so far this season along with leading the way in the Gunners’ Sofascore player ratings with a score of 7.46 to his name.

In addition, Rice has scored 4 goals along with producing 5 assists so far this term and he will be the first name on Thomas Tuchel’s team-sheet as he now looks to guide England to World Cup glory.

James Garner (Tottenham v EVERTON) – €7.0M

Similar to Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson, Everton midfielder James Garner has also enjoyed a break-out season for The Toffees by contributing consistent and solid performances throughout the entirety of this season’s Premier League campaign – and the numbers do not lie.

Despite Everton sitting mid-table in 12th place, there’s been nothing mid-table about Garner’s performances this season as the midfielder has achieved a total of 203 Fantasy points to date this term along with possessing an overall Sofascore rating of 7.22.

Garner has scored 2 goals but leads the way in terms of assists for David Moyes’ side with 7 assists to his name.

Bukayo Saka (Crystal Palace v ARSENAL) – €9.4M

Another name that will closely follow Declan Rice in Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad is Arsenal team-mate and forward Bukayo Saka who has been an important part of Arsenal’s firepower up front for some time now.

Saka has scored 7 goals and contributed 5 assists so far in this season’s Premier League campaign along with possessing an overall Sofascore rating of 7.24 this season as well.

Bukayo Saka is leading the way for English forwards in terms of Fantasy points as well with a total of 170 points under his belt, and he has scored 2 goals and 3 assists in previous appearances against Crystal Palace.

Ollie Watkins (Manchester City v ASTON VILLA) – €8.6M

Aston Villa can be highly satisfied with this season’s campaign which has been fought on two fronts; claiming the Europa League trophy in Istanbul against Freiburg along with currently sitting in 4th place in the Premier League table, Villa manager, Unai Emery, has once again delivered for the west midlands club.

An integral part of Villa’s success this season has been the goalscoring exploits of forward Ollie Watkins who has bagged a total of 14 goals so far this season along with providing 3 assists.

Watkins has also totted up 133 Fantasy points to date and having scored 7 goals in his last 9 appearances for Villa, he looks a solid addition to your Round 38 team.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (West Ham v LEEDS UTD) – €6.5M

Leeds United have enjoyed a successful return to the English top flight this season under manager Daniel Farke as the Yorkshire club occupy a creditable 14th place in the table and having secured their top flight status for another season a couple of weeks ago, The Whites can enjoy a final day out in the nation’s capital on Sunday afternoon.

The resurgence of Leeds United has coincided with the upturn in the goalscoring fortunes of forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the striker has netted 14 goals so far this season for his club along with 1 assist, making him a possible addition to make Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad.

5 goals in his last 8 games overall have been crucial in Leeds United avoiding a last-minute relegation battle and at just €6.5M, Calvert-Lewin represents great value ahead of Round 38.
