The coach Carlo Ancelotti made the first call-up of the Brazilian National Team after the 2026 World Cup. The list shows a significantly revamped squad, with only nine players who played in the World Cup, eight newcomers, and just two players over 30 years old.

Stars such as Neymar, Casemiro, Alisson, and Ederson were left out. With the renewal, the average age of the Brazilian National Team dropped from 28.6 to 24.2 years compared to those called up for the World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Among the young players called up by Ancelotti are well-known names such as Estêvão, who missed the World Cup due to injury, Endrick, and Rayan. The list also features newcomers like Arthur Dias, a 19-year-old Athletico-PR defender, Breno Bidon, a revelation at Corinthians, and Otávio, Cruzeiro’s 20-year-old goalkeeper.

Ancelotti Explains Focus on Youth

Asked in a press conference whether players over 30 will have less room on the Brazilian National Team, Ancelotti emphasized that his current focus is on renewing the squad. Only Douglas Santos and Marquinhos, both aged 32, were called up.

Schedule for the Brazilian National Team

The Brazilian National Team faces Australia on September 25, at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium, in Townsville. Four days later, on the 29th, the teams meet again at the Suncorp Stadium, in Brisbane.

Next, Ancelotti and company will head to India. On October 3, Brazil will face the Indian national team at Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata. It will be the first ever meeting between the main national teams of the two countries.

Still this year, Brazil will return to the pitch in the November FIFA window, when they will play friendlies against Japan and Singapore.
